  3. Shown below is a comparison of the various cost factors involved in
  4. purchasing and operating the LaserJet IIISi and an F100.  The difference
  5. in purchase price, monthly support, and per/page operating costs are
  6. dramatic between these two different types of printer products.  The
  7. purchase price and monthly support are 20x greater for the F100 than for
  8. the LaserJet IIISi; however, the $/page operating costs are 5x higher
  9. for the LaserJet IIISi.

  33. the F100.  For low volume applications, the LaserJet is cheaper to
  34. purchase and operate, while for high volume applications, the F100 has
  35. the cost advantage.  The crossover point in print volume where the F100
  36. becomes a financially more attractive choice is at 200,000 pages/month.

  60. of printing a page drops as volume is increased.  In its targeted 500K
  61. to 1M page/month design center, the cost of the F100 is around one
  62. penny/page.  On the other hand, the LaserJet IIISi for large volume
  63. applications is a constant 2 1/2 pennies/page.

  65. Also, the cost of ownership for LaserJets is dominated by consumables
  66. costs.  As a result, even in applications where the customer already
  67. owns a LaserJet, it's more cost effective to upgrade to the F100 for
  68. print volumes averaging better than 250,000 pages/month
